   Boycott Olympic Games   Carter, Jimmy
     A US-led boycott reduces the number of participating nations to 80, the lowest number since 1956
    Cancels America's participation in the Moscow Olympic Games
    Carter asked the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to move the summer games to a different location, the IOC rejects the request
    Carter ordered the USASecretary of Commerce to ban all exports to Russia of any goods or technology used for the games
    Carter warns international politicians that in retaliation to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the USAwill withdraw from the Moscow Olympic games
    To reinforce the boycott, Carter promises to revoke the passports of any USAathletes that still plan to attend the games
