19th May Makes his full international debut for England against Portugal at Goodison Park, Liverpool, and makes an immediate impression by scoring with his first touch of the ball after only 19 seconds
19th May Nicholson's only international appearance, because of injuries, the dominance of Billy Wright, and on many occasions he put his club before his country
